Mining Governance Training for Ministry of Mines and Petroleum officials in India

A one-day training program entitled Natural Resources Management from the Human Resources Directorate and Policy Department at the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum Conference Hall was held on Sunday, February 10 2019  which was attended by honorable Mehboobullah Rabbani, deputy minister of finance and admin and a number of officials and employees of this ministry.

The program which was funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, provided participants with information and transmitting the experiences of fourteen staff members of the ministry who traveled to India's natural resources management program.

At the meeting, Mr. Mehbobullah Rabani, Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration, thanked the government of Australia and the government of India, adding: "The leadership of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum is trying to introduce staff in technical and administrative departments at home and abroad for training.

Afterwards, Mr. Shafiq Zamani the head of the Department of Human Resources Education had thanked the leadership of the ministry of mines and petroleum, saying: "We are pleased that we have the support of the leadership of the ministry and have always provided training opportunities for the ministry's staff."

Later, on behalf the fourteen staff that attended the training in India, Mr. Abdul Shukoor Popal thanked the leadership of ministry of mines and petroleum for facilitating the training and added that “there is a greater potential for cooperation between the public sector, academic institutions and private sector of Afghanistan, Australia, India and Bangladesh, which in turn would assist Afghanistan to overcome some of the challenges in these areas.

The one day training program proceeded with the presentations by the fourteen staff members of the ministry who traveled to India's natural resources management program and responded to the questions posed by the participants.
